Planet Zoo 2 has no multiplayer, according to Frontier's FAQ, so there is no co-op and no crossplay. You can share parks and blueprints through the in-game Workshop across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and download other players' creations. Once the game is downloaded you can play offline, but Workshop downloads and sharing need an internet connection.
Multiplayer on the Planet Zoo 2 PS5 disc
Multiplayer is the same on the PS5 disc as on PC: there is none. The PlayStation Store lists Planet Zoo 2 as 1 player, with online play optional. With an internet connection, the PS5 version can use the Workshop to share parks and blueprints with PC and Xbox players.
The physical PlayStation 5 disc came out on Tuesday 20 October 2026, a week after the digital release. Amazon lists it as "Planet Zoo 2 - PlayStation 5". It suits PS5 players who want a disc to keep, lend or resell. If you want to play without waiting for delivery, or you play on PC, buy the digital version instead: there is no PC disc.

Is Planet Zoo 2 crossplay?

Franchise trading. In Franchise mode you trade habitat animals with other players and join Community Challenges. It needs a Frontier account and an internet connection. Frontier's guides do not say whether players on other platforms see your listings.
Saves. Steam lists Steam Cloud for the PC version. Frontier has not announced moving a save between PC and console.

Franchise mode and "other players"
The game modes page describes Franchise as a network of interconnected zoos and Wildlife Reserves where you trade animals with other players and add to community conservation efforts. Frontier's player guides explain how that fits with "no multiplayer": you list animals in Animal Trading for other players to adopt for Conservation Credits, and you contribute to Community Challenges, but each player runs their own zoos.

Does Planet Zoo 2 have co-op?
No. Frontier's FAQ says there is no multiplayer in Planet Zoo 2, and Steam lists the game as single-player.

How does trading work in Franchise mode?
