Why it exists

Before launch, most information about Planet Zoo 2 is scattered across videos, forum threads and wikis that mix confirmed facts with wish lists and older Planet Zoo 1 information. This site bases its game facts only on what Frontier, Steam and the console stores have published, lists the source for each one, and says clearly when something is not confirmed yet.

How pages are made

• Sources. Every date, price, requirement and animal comes from Frontier's Planet Zoo 2 website (including its FAQ, Zoopedia and news posts), the Steam store page, or the PlayStation and Microsoft Store listings. Each page lists its sources and the date they were checked.
• Our own work. A script in this site's code builds the animal table from Frontier's Zoopedia and compares it with Frontier's Planet Zoo 1 Zoopedia by scientific name. Time-zone conversions, price differences and the weekly reveal chart are our own calculations from the sourced numbers.
• AI in drafting. Page text is drafted with AI assistance (Anthropic's Claude) from those sources. We also look at other sites that cover each topic to find the questions readers ask most.
• Checks. Pages are checked against their linked official sources before they are published. Automated checks compare the figures in each guide with the site's data files.
• Not tested yet. The game is not out, so we have not played or benchmarked it. When we add in-game data after launch, each page will say which game version and platform it came from.
• Dates. A page's check date changes only when its facts are re-checked. Substantive changes are noted on the page.

Images and Frontier's content

The only fan content policy we could find from Frontier is its Media Usage Rules, posted on the Frontier Forums on 3 May 2019. The rules are written for Elite Dangerous; we found no Planet Zoo version. They allow non-commercial fan pages and community sites. They forbid commercial use of Frontier's assets without permission and any content that could mislead people into thinking it comes from Frontier, and they ask projects that use Frontier assets to state that they are not endorsed by Frontier Developments. Frontier's website terms also reserve the rights to its site content.

For that reason, this site uses no Frontier screenshots, trailers, logos or artwork, and it does not copy Frontier's descriptive text. Every page says in its footer that the site is unofficial and not affiliated with Frontier Developments. We state facts in our own words, quote Frontier briefly where its exact words matter, and link to the original. Diagrams and tables are our own.

Money

The site currently has no ads, affiliate links or sponsorships. Store links go to the store pages Frontier links to from its pre-order page. If that changes, the change will be labelled where it appears and noted here.
