Planet Zoo 2 system requirements for PC
Minimum: Intel i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, an NVIDIA RTX 2060, AMD RX 5600 XT or Intel Arc A750, Windows 10 or 11, and 40 GB of storage.
Recommended: Intel i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, an RTX 3070, RX 6700 XT or Arc A770, Windows 11 and an SSD.
Frontier says a well-built zoo runs above 30 FPS on Medium settings at the minimum spec, and at 30 FPS on High at the recommended spec.
Minimum and recommended specs
This is the text on the Steam store page, word for word, and it matches Frontier's own FAQ. Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and operating system.

Frontier's FAQ adds context that the Steam page leaves out: these specs are "capable of creating a well built up zoo and will run above 30 FPS with Medium settings on the minimum specs, and 30 FPS with High settings on the recommended specs." It also warns that the game relies more on the processor as your zoo fills with animals and guests, so lowering graphics settings may not raise your frame rate in a large zoo. For laptops, it suggests extra cooling so the processor can sustain higher clock speeds.

If your PC falls short, Frontier's FAQ says Planet Zoo 2 will be playable through NVIDIA's GeForce NOW cloud service, and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Mac, Steam Deck, laptops, consoles and Windows 10
- Mac: Frontier's FAQ says there are no plans to release Planet Zoo 2 for macOS. Steam lists Windows only.
- Steam Deck and Linux: Steam lists Windows only, and Frontier has not mentioned Steam Deck. Treat Steam Deck and Linux as not officially supported until Valve or Frontier says otherwise.
- Laptops: Frontier's list names desktop parts and does not mention laptop versions of those parts. Its FAQ suggests extra cooling for laptops.
- Consoles: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. The console version has a complexity meter that caps how much you can build; see the build limit.
- Windows 10: it meets the minimum, but Frontier's note on Steam says: "Microsoft has ended support for Windows 10 meaning we cannot guarantee ongoing compatibility." The recommended tier needs Windows 11.
Note: at least one popular requirements checker lists Windows 11 as the minimum OS and adds a Shader Model 6.0 line. Neither appears on the Steam page or in Frontier's FAQ, both of which list Windows 10 or 11 for the minimum tier.
